Parents will be responsible for transportation to classes that are off of the clubgrounds.

Kids Afield is a comprehensive 4 year program designed to teach participants about gun handling, shooting sports and hunting with a large emphasis placed on safety throughout all 4 years of the program.

 1st year students will participate in an ODNR Approved Hunter Education Safety course. These students will also have live-fire practice with pistols, rifles and shotguns with an emphasis on safe handling. Their weekend concludes with the opportunity to take a test to receive their hunter education card.  

  2nd and 3rd year students progress into more intensive archery and live-fire programs featuring shotguns, rifles and pistols. 

  3rd and 4th year students progress into actual field trials where they have the opportunity to work with professional dog handlers to hunt live pheasants in a controlled environment.

  The event concludes with an awards ceremony for all classes with medals and trophies awarded to the top students.
